Mini Balakrishnan

Mini Balakrishnan is the Vice President of Biology at Biomea Fusion, where she leads research and development efforts in diabetes and obesity medicines. With a Ph.D. from New Mexico State University, she has a robust skill set in drug discovery, biochemistry, biotechnology, and molecular biology. Balakrishnan has been instrumental in advancing the company’s lead development candidate, icovamenib, which aims to be the first disease-modifying treatment for diabetes. Her work has been recognized at significant scientific sessions, including the American Diabetes Association, where she presented key findings that support metabolic health and obesity treatment.
